Seattle City Light Broad Street Substation Seismic Upgrade

PSM worked in concert with Seattle City Light staff to perform a seismic upgrade of these essential facilities. Using ASCE 41 Criteria, an Enhanced Performance Level was selected to provide Immediate Occupancy in the event of a 475 year earthquake.
Upgrade designs for three buildings on the site were completed. Important considerations of design included the need for continuous operation of this electrical substation during construction. The building envelopes were also rehabilitated by other Team members as part of this project.
